Privacy policy
This explains what Elan collects, why, and for how long. Stride Software is responsible for this data. Write to hello@elan.stridesoftware.net about any of it.
What we collect from hosts
Your email address, the name you give us, your language, and when and from which browser you signed in. The details of your events. What you paid, when, and its status - the card details themselves stay with our payment provider.
What we collect from guests
The name a guest types when they join, the photographs they take, their likes, comments and tags, and the network address and browser they joined from, which we keep to stop abuse. A guest’s phone keeps a token so it stays signed in to that wall.
Why
To run the wall and the album, to keep them safe from abuse, and to send the emails the service needs: sign-in codes, receipts, and reminders before an album is deleted. We do not advertise, profile or sell anyone’s data.
Who can see it
Everything on a wall can be seen by anyone with its address. The event’s owner can see who joined and moderate what they posted. We use Cloudflare to store and deliver photographs, an email provider to send email, a payment provider to take payments, and a hosting provider to run the servers, each only to provide Elan.
How long we keep it
An event’s photographs, guests, likes and comments are deleted with its album, two months after the event. Database backups that may still contain them are kept for up to 30 days more. Accounts are kept until you ask us to delete them; payment records are kept as long as accounting law requires.
Cookies
Only the ones Elan needs to work: staying signed in, and remembering your language. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account. Guests can delete their own photos from a wall at any time, and can ask the host or us to remove anything else.
Children
Accounts are for adults. Photographs of children at an event are the host’s responsibility; our content policy explains what that means.
